Delicious Changchun
I have considered for very long time about what to write for the first article. At last, I thought hot pot will be the greatest food to recommend.
The history of hot pot is very long. In the Yuan dynasty, the emperor HuBilie was fighting with other places and wanted to get a bigger area. One day, all the soldiers and his were so hungry and tired, he suddenly missed the local food "stewed lamb" so much. So he asked the chef to make for him. But at the same time, the enemy started the war. He was so hungry and but needed to fight, so he asked the chef to make it faster. The chef knew his personality so much, so the chef made the lamb piece so thin instead of thick and big. He put the lamb into hot water for a few seconds and then put salt in, after that HuBilie ate it, then he went to the war. He won the war and was so happy with the food. He asked the chef made it again and named the dish "shuan yang rou". Since then, it became very famous. Nowadays, we call it shuan yang rou and hot pot (huo guo).
The place I want to introduce today, called "If." It's a small, neat and grace restaurant on Xi kang hu tong. When you walk into the restaurant, the first impression of it is clean and quiet. The food there isn't very expensive. Maybe you will think it's not enough for you, but on the other hand, you can try many kinds of food. What makes "If" special is you can make the sauce by yourself. They have the recipes on the wall. And you need to pay for the bill when you finish ordering. The only bad things there are, no English either on the menu or on the wall. It's a bit of a disappointment.
Well for this restaurant, I recommend it for couples and maybe business dinners there. Because there aren't many people, and young people are the main customers. And their multi-vegetable dish is really good, only 8 yuan. Their juice is nice too. For a big pitcher is only 15 yuan, really worth the price.
Every time I go there, I feel relaxed. I love it there. So, if you're like me, love hot pot, like to eat in a romantic place, I think "If" will be your best choice!
