"The lowest-priced Indian food anywhere in China", says Hari, the owner/operator of this latest and most welcome addition to the multi-national food scene in Changchun.  Hari's a third year med student himself, and with 220 Indian medical students living in the neighbourhood it's not surprising to find a lot of young Indian faces in the 40 seat restaurant.  Prepared by experienced Indian chefs, the varied menu features 150 items from  northern and southern Indian cuisines:  Naan from 4 - 5 yuan; Roti at 3 yuan; Dal, 4 yuan; Pakora, 5-6 yuan; Samosas, 7 yuan; Pilao, 8-10 yuan; Korma, 10 yuan; Masala - vegetarian 10, chicken 12, fish 12, lamb 15.  A range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also available, priced to be really easy on the budget.

    This restaurant was being operated, shall we say, in a very "casual" fashion. Every other Indian student hung out in front of the place and took turns in the kitchen. Hand washing appeared to be optional and the kitchen didn't appear very clean when I was there. If they had a manager with real restaurant management experience (done properly it is no easy job), I think the place could have been successful.

          Genuine Indian food,low prices.Im so glad we have a real Indian restaurant here!

            This restaurant indeed has very reasonable prices that can allow you to come often. However, it is still a business in the making. Don't expect the clean and sterile atmosphere of the old Indian Kitchen (I really miss that franchise). But I think this restaurant's overall presentation will improve over time. The food is good. The menu is very large. The Indian management are extremely friendly people that are eager to please.
