Description:

Directly across the street from the Shangri-La Hotel.  One of two Pizza Hut restaurants in Changchun;  the other is across from the railway station.  Tasty pizza with a great variety of toppings, pasta and Italian dishes, ice cream and desserts.  Comfortable seating with a great people-watching view out onto the flow of shoppers on Chongqing Lu.  Real fun is watching the one-time up salad bar salad construction engineers at work, trying to get maximum value for their salad purchase by building structurally sound towers of salad on a single, small plate.  Very busy place;  you might have to wait a few minutes before being seated at lunch and dinner times.

Nothing agains Pizza Hut (although I wish they used more sauce here), but if you're planning to spend that much money on pizza and it happens to be Saturday, you should try the 85rmb lunchtime pizza buffet across the street at the Shangri-la. For this Saturday special, they don't have the absurd service charge - it's just a flat 85rmb. You'll get 5-star treatment for about the same price without the crowds and noise. Yes, they even have cheescake for dessert (which nails it for me).

      yum brand!并没有本着yum的精神来做这个牌子。价格超级昂贵,但是在没有找到吃pizza更好的地方就只能选择这里了。可以办理一个yummy card.20% off!

It's pizza, and definitely seems like Pizza Hut back home to me. It'll cost you, and I think there are better places for pizza. Had a pretty good one at the Shangri-la and a great one (though it could have used extra sauce...which they said they'd do next time) at Casablanca. I've got to do a review on Casablanca sometime; my only complaint was beer that tasted years old...that's ok for wine, not beer.

What can one say. It's expensive. I believe more than back home. Two to three people can easily spend 150 to 200rmb. To meet Chinese taste preferences, they use very little pizza sauce compared to Pizza Hut restaurants back home (or so I read). You are limited to one trip to the salad bar with your small bowl.(whereas Pizza Hut ironically provides a larger bowl and allows multiple trips in most other markets). The fun part is watching how much salad and sides people can fit into that small bowl without spilling it. It's an art in itself and well worth the trip to see.
