This has to be one of the best, if not the best restaurant in Changchun. At 68 yuan the grilled steak is the thickest, juiciest most tender and perfectly cooked steak to be had in this city.  This is the most recent offering from the Food King folks who've introduced "Made in Kitchen" and other gorgeous restaurants to Changchun over the past couple of years. Characterized by an atypical stone, wood and glass design and filled with beautiful furnishings, the interior is all high-ceilinged spaciousness filled with grace touches and muted earth tones.  The centerpiece of one room is a 25 foot gondola that appears to be floating on air. 

The setting is impressive but it is soon forgotten when you taste the food.  It is an extensive menu, but the steaks, veal, lamb, pork chops and salad bar are the most remarkable, unless, of course, you have a sweet tooth.  Then you should also try the chocolate warming cake which has warm chocolate pudding in the center - a major taste treat and sugar rush for the chocoholics among us.  A good selection of wines and other beverages is also available.

Despite the large amount of seating in three separate open spaces on the first floor and despite all the private rooms which are available, the place is quite busy at meal times, so get there early or call ahead.

Ask your driver to take you to "Shi Jian Niu Pai" at  "Hu Xi Lu 333 hao" (it runs west off Yan'An Da Jie and the west side of  Nan Hu Park to Hong Qi Jie).  The restaurant is on the north side, closer to Hong Qi Jie than to the park.
