I just moved up from Xi'an, which has a great scene. While there, I had the pleasure of directing three music videos for the band SUCKER. Their new CD comes out on the 20th of July. It's tentatively titled, 'There's a Sucker Born Every Minute,” and the three videos I made for them, "Through My Soul," "Remain Pain," and, "40 Kilometers" should be surfacing around that time. Their national tour will kick off around that time, too.

I am interested in supporting the local music scene by attending shows, and if I like the music I'd definitely buy a band's CD. I would also offer my services (gratis, if I like their stuff) to help the bands promote themselves through music videos. No strings attached.

I think there is a wealth of talented, young people playing rock'n'roll in China.

i hope this is something you are searching for...this band used to be my favorite rock band in chang chun, their live show and stage presence is really cool i reckon, my friend plays guitar in it...

actually the rock atmosphere is not that bad here, we have rock concert( of course not sth like fag wu bai) almost once in 2 months, and im sure if your music pulls off it will be easy for you to hold some rock concert...i can also introduce you to some cool rock player in this town

as far as i know, beijing is truly the place to be if you wanna be succesfull in promoting your rock music. anyway, i looked it up on the internet. there should be a place called "mix" bar at the crossing of Xi Chaoyang Lu and Jianshe Jie (chinese adress: 西朝阳路与建设街交汇处). there should be a cigarettes and liquor supermarket next to it, just in case it's somewhere in the back of a building.
